Progress Report 48 Hours after The Successful Separation of The Iraqi Conjoined Twins Christian and Chris

Based on the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the twins arrived in Riyadh from Iraq on 19 March 2014.

48 hours after the successful separation of the Iraqi Conjoined Twins, Christian and Chris performed on Thursday, 10 April 2014, at the King Abdulaziz Medical City, Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs the Head of the Surgical and Multidisciplinary Team, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah stated that the twins are very stable and all their vital signs and systems working normally.  The twins are completely alert and interacting with their parents and staff like any other babies of their age (3 months).  The twins underwent an operation to separate them from their lower chest and abdomen which was performed over 6 phases taking 6 hours and 40 minutes.

Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah indicated that the twins would probably be fed orally in the next couple of days.

The parents of the twins are extremely appreciative and truly thankful for the fatherly gesture and generosity of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz as well as to the Medical team for the successful outcome of the separation.

This is the 32nd case that has been separated by the Saudi Team.
