48 hours after the successful separation of the Sudanese conjoined twins Mamdooh and Mahmood performed on Saturday, 24 May 2014 at the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs (KAMC) the Head of the Surgical and Multidisciplinary Team, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah stated that the twins are stable in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU),  however, Mahmood requires very careful attention due to his complex and anomalous heart as well as having an abnormal malfunctioning kidney which requires close monitoring and medical care.

Based on the directive of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to treat the Sudanese Conjoined twins Mamdooh and Mahmood the Multidisciplinary and Surgical Teams at the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs for conjoined twins headed by HE Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah met several times to review the case of the twins

Separating Saudi Craniopagus Conjoined Twins (Rana and Ranim)
A multidisciplinary team designated for the Saudi Craniopagus Conjoined Twins (Rana and Ranim) decided to perform a difficult and complex operation to separate the twins. The operation is scheduled to take place today, the 4th of May 2014 in King Abdulaziz Medical City, Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, Riyadh and is expected to last up to 18 continuous hours with a 60% success rate.
