Saudi Conjoined Twins Surgery 02 July 2007

::. Conjoined Twins .:. التوائم الملتصقة .:: Slideshow image

48 hours after the successful separation of the Saudi Conjoined Twins Abdullah and Abdulrahman
Abdullah and Abdulrahman which lasted 16 and half hours on Monday, 02 July 2007, one of the twins, Abdullah has woken up and started to move normally and has been taken off the artificial respirator. He is now breathing normally and his vital organs are stable.

The other twin, Abdulrahman who has many congenital abnormalities including abnormal arteries and veins in his abdomen is still critical but stable in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and requires several days of close observation.
However, both twins are doing well considering the magnitude of surgery and there is no evidence of any complications or infections as stated by Dr. Al Rabeeah, Head of the Multidisciplinary Surgical Team who has indicated that both twins require 2 – 3 days in the PICU.
