Progress Report – Sunday 23 January 2005: Daria and Olga Recuperating in Ward 7
Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Chief Surgeon and Head of the Multidisciplinary Team stated today, that the conjoined twins Daria and Olga, who were separated on Monday 03 January 2005, were discharged from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on Friday 14 January 2005 to the general pediatric ward (Ward 7) and are recuperating extremely well. Their condition is excellent and their vital functions including heart, respiratory and gastrointestinal remain normal.

Dr. Al Rabeeah further stated that yesterday, 22 January 2005, Daria and Olga started crawling and trying to stand up in their cots. They are active and interact with each other by smiling, playing and holding hands. Physiotherapy is in progress and later this week the twins will attend the rehabilitation room to commence more active rehabilitation.
