Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Head of the Multidisciplinary Team stated that 72 hours after the successful separation of the Moroccan twins Azizah and Saeedah performed at King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh that both twins are breathing normally after being removed from the artificial respirator.
All vital signs are good and their organs are functioning normally. The twins are no longer on antibiotics but continue to be under pain relief management for the time being. They will remain in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for a few more weeks under close observation of the Medical Team before being transferred to Ward 7 to start with their rehabilitation program.
The twins are interacting with their parents and the medical team and after being removed from the artificial respirator for the first time in her life her mother managed to carry Saeedah independent from her sister after she raised her hand to her mother which brought extreme happiness to both her parents.
Based on the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the operation for the separation was carried out over 7 phases and took 13 hours and 20 minutes. This is the 23rd separation to be carried out in the Kingdom of Humanity.
