Arriving in Riyadh |
Ahmad and Mohammad are two very special little boys. When they where born they where conjoined at the pelvis, chest and abdomen. They are now 4 1/2 years old and they have had to live this way for a considerable part of their lives. The boys are from Ma
laysia
where a chance at seperating them was at best 50-50. There was
also the added issue of expense. Performing this type of operation
is very costly no matter where it is done. The *"Humanitarian Aid Project for Eastern Europe (H.A.P.E.E)" then organized for the boys to be brought to England, with the intention
of obtaining a special wheelchair and walking frame for the boys.
However, Ahmed and Mohammad's plight did not go unnoticed. The
Great Ormond Street Hospital was to perform the operation to
separate Ahmad and Mohammad and specialists at the hospital stated
that the operation could be carried-out with an 80-90% chance
of success. This appeared to be Ahmad and Mohammad's best chance,
until their circumstances changed.
