48 hours after the successful separation of the Jordanian conjoined twins Mohammad and Amjed performed on Thursday, 29 April 2010 at the King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard Health Affairs – Riyadh the Head of the Multidisciplinary team, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah stated that the twins are in a stable condition without any sign of complications and all vital organs are functioning normally. The Medical Team has eased the twins off the artificial respirator and they are now breathing on their own. They will continue to be intravenously fed for the next few days.
The twins are currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and are expected to remain there for approximately 7-10 days, thereafter they will be transferred to Ward 7
The parents of the twins are extremely happy and appreciative as well as truly thankful for the fatherly gesture and generosity of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as well as to the Medical Team for the successful outcome of the separation.
