4 weeks after the successful separation of the Iraqi conjoined twins Ayad and Zeyad they have become stable without any major problems or complications.
The twin Zeyed is feeding from the bottle and all vital organs are functioning well. He is interacting with his parents and medical team extremely well.
The twin Ayad is still requiring oxygen through his nose because of the immaturity of his airway, however, he is being fed by a nasal gastric tube (nose to stomach) and all vital organs are functioning in a stable condition.
Both twins are expected to leave the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within a few weeks. Their parents are very happy and extremely appreciative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah’s fatherly visit as well as his kind and generous support as stated by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Head of the Multidisciplinary Surgical Team.
