Wednesday, 06 December 2006: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Visits the Iraqi Twins Fatima and Al Zahra
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz visited the Iraqi twins Fatima and Zahra in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at King Abdulaziz Medical City for National Guard-Riyadh last Wednesday in order to check on the twins’ health and to congratulate the parents of the twins for the success of the separation operation, which was performed on Saturday, 11 Dhu Al Qa’dah 1427 H (December 02, 2006). During his visit, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also congratulated the Medical Team for their achievement, which is the twelfth of its kind in the Kingdom as a whole.

This fatherly gesture is a continuation of the humanitarian compassion that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has always displayed without limit towards the sick and those in need of assistance, in spite of his many obligations.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah (Head of the Medical and Surgical Team), along with his colleagues on the Team, valued this visit, considering it to be the highest accolade received by the Medical and Surgical Team and the Health Sector as a whole and an incentive for further efforts in the service of this benevolent country.

His Excellency Dr. Al Rabeeah confirmed that the twins are in stable condition and that all of their vital signs including their hearts and their respiratory, urinary and gastrointestinal systems are functioning normally. Dr. Al Rabeeah also stated that the twins are showing rapid improvement and if the pace of this improvement continues, the twins will be transferred to the Pediatric Ward within the next ten days.
