Progress Report: 30 hours after the surgical separation of the Iraqi conjoined twins, Fatima and Al Zahra
Thirty (30) hours after completion of the surgical operation to separate the Iraqi conjoined twins Fatima and Al Zahra, the twins are in a stable condition. According to H.E. Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Head of the Multidisciplinary Team, there are no signs of complications or problems, vital signs are normal and the babies’ hearts, respiratory systems, livers, kidneys and other body systems are functioning normally.

The twins are still under close supervision in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), KAMC-Riyadh, where they remain on artificial respiration and are continuing to receive antibiotics, analgesic treatment and anesthesia to relieve pain.
