Six days after the successful separation of the Egyptian conjoined twins Mahmoud and Hassan as directed by the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the twin’s condition has stabilized at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at KAMC-Riyadh.
Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah stated that the condition of Mahmoud has notably improved with the ventilation equipment having been detached and is now breathing normally, biological functions resumed, feeding introduced and is responding satisfactorily to the medical team and his parents.
The twin Hassan is still under ventilation and monitoring although his condition has stabilized, yet he still suffers from a urological system infection. Antibiotics have been amended in accordance with the laboratory test results and the medical team has started introducing feeding today. It is anticipated that the ventilation will be detached within the next few days.
Both parents have been fully updated on the twins condition and they are very thankful to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as well as the care the medical team are providing.
