The reputation of King Abdulaziz Medical City-National Guard in Riyadh is well known internationally, especially in successful conjoined twins separations. Six (6) sets of conjoined twins have been successfully separated in Riyadh by medical teams headed by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, who has a vast amount of experience (worldwide) in conjoined twins separation. The parents knew of his experience and through the twins' uncle who lives in Riyadh, communicated with Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah to give hope to the family.
22 October 2003
Talya and Taleen Discharge from the Hospital and they are in good health. Taleen had a small thrombus in her right heart ventricle, which resolved completely. Last Echocardiogram was done on 15/10/2003 and it showed persistence of VSD, however the thrombus disappeared. Their surgical wound healed completely. Their development is appropriate for age. Talya is almost completely back to her normal status with normal physiological movement of her neck and back. Taleen is still having some limitation in her neck movement but she is being followed by physiotherapist and she is responding well. Their vaccination was resumed and updated. Hopefully in two weeks time they will be back to Egypt.
